Overview
Atomic Mail is a secure email provider launched in 2024 and hosted on servers in Germany. It is built for everyday users who want strong privacy without technical complexity. Unlike most encrypted email services that lock core features behind paid tiers, Atomic Mail gives every free account end-to-end encryption, zero-access encryption, unlimited storage, and 10 aliases with no phone number or secondary email required at signup. The service uses ECIES-based Atomic Encryption for messages between Atomic users and supports password-based or file-based encryption for sending to outside providers. All decryption happens locally on the user's device, and private keys are never stored on Atomic's servers. Additional security features include 2FA, seed phrase account recovery, biometric app login, and a spam filter paired with hide-my-email aliases. Atomic Mail Plus adds an AI suite (writing assistant, translator, grammar checker, summarizer, security helper, and read-aloud), Hide My Email, 15 aliases, and custom email signatures. Pricing starts at $5 per month billed annually or $7 per month billed monthly. The free plan remains fully functional with no feature gating on core email and encryption capabilities.

Best For

How It Works
1. Create an account anonymously at atomicmail.io. No phone number or backup email is required. A seed phrase is issued for account recovery. 2. Send and receive encrypted email. When both parties use Atomic Mail, ECIES-based end-to-end encryption activates automatically. For recipients on other providers, choose Encrypt by Password or Encrypt as File before sending. 3. Decryption happens on your device. Private keys never leave your authorized device. Atomic Mail cannot read your message content at any point due to zero-access architecture. 4. Manage identity with aliases. Free accounts get 10 aliases to compartmentalize inboxes and block spam. Plus users get 15 aliases plus Hide My Email for generating disposable forwarding addresses. 5. Use the AI suite (Plus only). Compose with the Help me Write feature, get summaries, check grammar, translate messages, or have emails read aloud, all without exposing message content to third parties.
