Overview

AutoSend is a developer-first email platform that handles both transactional and marketing email from one unified product. It positions itself as a SendGrid and Resend alternative, built for indie hackers, startups, and growing teams who want simple API integration without paying for contact list size. Key capabilities include a RESTful email API with single-call sending, SMTP relay, webhook events, React email and HTML template support, a no-code drag-and-drop email builder, marketing campaigns with scheduling and analytics, email automation workflows, contact segmentation with custom fields, and unsubscribe group management for compliance. The platform supports easy migration from Resend, SendGrid, and Loops, with dedicated human migration support. AutoSend reports 98.97% deliverability and an average 8.02 second time to inbox. Dedicated IPs are available on Scale plans. An MCP server integration is available for AI agent workflows. Pricing is volume-based: pay only for emails sent, not contacts stored. Plans start at $1 per month (Transactional only) or $5 per month (Marketing plus Transactional).

Best For

Developers and indie hackers who need a reliable, affordable transactional email API for side projects and early-stage products, Early-stage startups transitioning from transactional-only email to combined marketing and transactional sending on one platform, Growing SaaS companies that need predictable deliverability with dedicated IPs as they scale past 100K emails per month, Small teams running automated drip campaigns or welcome sequences who want a focused tool without enterprise platform complexity

How It Works

1. Sign up and connect a sending domain through the AutoSend dashboard (domain verification takes minutes). 2. Generate an API key and authenticate requests using a Bearer token in the Authorization header. 3. Send a transactional email with a single POST request to the API endpoint, passing from/to addresses, subject, and either a template ID or raw HTML/text body. 4. Alternatively, configure SMTP credentials to route email through AutoSend from any existing application or framework. 5. For marketing use cases, import or build a contact list, create segments using custom fields and behavioral filters, and design campaigns using the built-in markdown or drag-and-drop editor. 6. Set up automation workflows triggered by contact events or time delays for sequences like onboarding or re-engagement. 7. Monitor performance through the dashboard: opens, clicks, conversions, deliverability, and email activity logs with 30 days of retention (7 days on Hobby). 8. Scale volume by upgrading plans; overage emails are billed per 1,000 sends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which AutoSend plan is right for me?

The Starter plan (up to 25K emails/month) is ideal for builders and side-projects, giving you access to the core API, campaign tools, and email support. The Growth plan (up to 100K emails/month) fits indie hackers and startups that need higher sending volume and dedicated Slack support. The Scale plan (up to 1.5M emails/month) is for growing companies with larger email needs, advanced features like Dedicated IPs, and stronger deliverability. The Enterprise plan is built for businesses sending over 1.5M emails per month, with custom pricing, a dedicated account manager, and priority support.

Does AutoSend offer a free plan?

No. AutoSend doesn't have a free plan. Instead, our Hobby plan begins at just $1. This small friction fee helps prevent abuse on shared IPs and ensures safer, more reliable email delivery for all our customers.

How does AutoSend pricing work?

AutoSend follows a tiered pay-as-you-grow model. Each plan includes a monthly email quota. If you need more, you can either upgrade your plan or pay overage fees per 1,000 emails.

What is the billing cycle and how am I charged?

AutoSend uses a monthly billing cycle, and accounts are charged on the day you start your subscription for the selected plan, plus any additional email usage.

What if I exceed my monthly sending limit?

If you exceed your monthly quota, AutoSend charges a small fee per 1,000 additional emails. You will also receive an email notification when you reach 90% of your quota, so you can decide whether to upgrade or let additional email billing cover the rest.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan anytime?

Yes. You can switch plans whenever you like. Upgrades apply immediately, while downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. Refunds are available only if there is no usage for that month after your account has been charged.

Is AutoSend a cost-effective alternative to SendGrid or Mailchimp?

Yes. AutoSend is built as a lightweight, affordable alternative to SendGrid, Mailchimp, Mailjet, Resend, Loops and similar platforms offering cleaner APIs for developers and simpler campaign tools for marketers.

Do you offer enterprise or high-volume pricing?

Yes. If you send over 1.5 million emails per month, AutoSend provides custom enterprise pricing with dedicated support, higher throughput, and scaling options. Please email [email protected] for enterprise pricing.

Does AutoSend offer Dedicated IPs?

Yes. Dedicated IPs are available as an add-on for higher-volume senders. If you send more than 200K emails per month, you can add a Dedicated IP to improve deliverability, reputation control, and email performance.

Are there any hidden fees in AutoSend pricing?

No. AutoSend pricing is transparent and predictable. You only pay for your plan and any additional emails you send. No setup costs or hidden extras.
